Andromeda Industries Pty Ltd is an Australian owned manufacturing company located on a 5 hectare site in the village of Moonbi, 22 km north of Tamworth. It employs 12 fulltime staff and a number of part time staff. It is the present entity of a series of firms and companies originated and operated by Raymond McLaren since 1962.
Over the years Andromeda has established itself as an innovator in industry throughout Australia and Overseas. Andromeda recycles Conveyor Belt from Australian Mine sites for over 100 uses in the Livestock & Equine Industries, Transportation and general use.
The ability to carry through with research projects and apply the results has led to successful development of many new products and manufacturing processes. Some of the research projects required many years before production commenced. Our Holeybelt Machines were specially designed to punch holes into the recycled rubber Conveyor Splitbelt which is used for a number of purposes including erosion control.
The establishment in 1976 of the first machining capability has enabled the company to carry out these projects, and to manufacture the tools and machines to make the products. This early capability has been continued through to the present high tech machine tools employed in our Engineering Division.
Andromeda Industries Rubber Division prides itself on recycling our rubber splitbelt products which were bound for landfill in Australia. Andromeda has invented a unique process to split the conveyor belt into various thickness, widths and lengths.
It is very popular in the Livestock & Equine Industry to line yards, arenas, stables, cattle races and crushes for protection of stock and it has a long lifespan as it is strong as it has ply through the centre and doesn’t deteriorate in the weather. It is also very useful as a lining in transportation vehicles and on the ground for erosion control.
With the invention of our splitting process here at Andromeda Industries we have prevented thousands of very large rolls of rubber conveyor belt from being left to waste.
Andromeda Industries Recycled Splitbelt Conveyor Rubber has over 100 different applications. From lining Stables, Arenas, Roundyards, Cattle Yards and Races to Ute mats, Livestock Transport flooring, dividers and walls, Footpaths, Drains, Shed Floors, Gym Floors just to name a few.
Our range of Holeybelt 20 and Envirobelt 40 have been utilized for erosion control and to drive heavy vehicles over on sand dunes and bushy tracks to prevent damage to the natural habitat.
We are branching out into some new products as well to meet market demand. These products include Agmat in 4 different sizes, Tailgate Mats in 4 different sizes and some new conveyor belting which we have made into Holeybelt20 for new Ute Mats.
